Maker Faire Tulsa 2020

Presented by AAON®

To our Maker Faire Tulsa supporters,

The impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic has been far-reaching and evolving, and we now know that these impacts will be felt for several months.  At this time, there is a great deal of uncertainty and unpredictability in the guidance on if and how to safely hold an event for thousands of people in one space.

Our first priority is always the safety of our participants and volunteers.  Instead of hosting Maker Faire Tulsa in its traditional format, we are  pivoting to an alternative format that combines online content and outdoor drive-through grab-and-go projects that will meet recommended social distancing guidelines and continue to have a positive impact on the Tulsa community.

The 2020 edition of Maker Faire Tulsa presented by AAON® will feature three exciting elements:

(1) 1,000 FREE QuikTrip® Maker Packs that include DIY kits for young makers and their families

(2) an online unveiling of this year’s Magic Wheelchair project for a young student from The Little Light House sponsored by T.D. Williamson®

(3) a online showcase of local makers and projects through the Maker Faire Tulsa website

Our outdoor drive-through QuikTrip® Maker Pack distribution will take place at Expo Square Exchange Center parking lot August 29, 2020 10am to 5pm.

While this year’s Maker Faire Tulsa will be a little different, we believe these steps will be the best balance of safety, fun, and community spirit. We encourage families interested in QuikTrip® Maker Packs and adults interested in volunteering to visit https://tulsa.makerfaire.com/ for registration information.

Sincerely,
