Ian Browne

I am a vertebrate paleontologist who studies the response of communities of small mammals to a period of climate change that occurred roughly 15 million years ago. I use photogrammetry in my research to produce digital models of fossils that I can use in statistical analyses of shape. I am also an artist and I occasionally use photogrammetry and 3D printing to either make pieces directly, or to modify the equipment I use in my artistic pursuits. I am currently a post-doc working on research and teaching gross anatomy to first year medical students. Over the course of my career I have worked at several natural history museums, including a short stint as an intern at the Field Museum of Natural History, where I helped to reconstruct the T. rex specimen commonly known as Sue.
